What do elephants and fashion have in common?

Mill artist Gabrielle Fischer Horvath has been commissioned to create an unusual accessory for Fashion Week in Toronto. This year's theme is "Circus" and Gabrielle will be using her unique method to cast a full size elephant to be used at the entrance to the runway for designer Lucian Matis.

The Bowmanville Zoo volunteered the elephant and will receive the sculpture once Fashion Week is finished. Artcast of Georgetown is donating their facility for casting and the bronze is being donated by Ingot Metal Company with Eco Brass. Reeves and Poole donated the plaster bandages for the project and all sponsors will be included in the promotional video.
