All the artists of the Williams Mill wish to join in the congratulations being sent the way of Doug and Mary Lou Brock. Doug & Mary Lou, are the recipients of the prestigious Halton Hills Cultural Roundtable’s 2011 “Arts Alive Award for Culture" for their founding and development of the Williams Mill Visual Arts Centre.
This Arts Alive Award For Culture is presented only once every five years. It recognizes individuals who have displayed excellence in the field of cultural development within the Halton Hills community.
Those of us who are fortunate enough to have artist studios at the Williams Mill, appreciate the inspiring, affordable artist work space Mary Lou and Doug Brock have created. This type of artist studio venue is rare in the area outside of Toronto. What do we appreciate even more? That the Williams Mill Legacy will continue. The Brocks have protected the Williams Mill and its use as an arts centre, by generously supporting its evolution into a not for profit venue, run by a not for profit foundation.
If you haven't yet visited the Williams Mill Visual Arts Centre, you're in for a treat for the eyes and the soul. Inspiring art, historic buildings, a unique location hidden in a true glen by the Credit River, only 40 minutes north west of Toronto. Click here for an insight into the remarkable history of the Williams Mill.
Congratulations again, Doug and Mary Lou Brock!
