The old saying, ‘There’s an elephant in the living room’, doesn’t quite apply for Williams Mill artist Gabrielle Fischer Horvath, since no one can ignore the newly-assembled bronze cast elephant she recently created. The work, cast at Artcast in Georgetown, was created by plaster bandage casting a live elephant, then going through an elaborate process to cast it in bronze. The work has been set in its temporary display location outside the Gallery in Glen Williams, but it is expected to be mounted on the wall of the yellow building at Williams Mill within the next few weeks.

Pictures above show Gabrielle signing her work after completion.
Sheba is then being lifted by boom truck onto a platform ready to go to the Mill - weighing in at almost 900 lb. She now sits in her temporary home greeting visitors to the Mill.
