Studio 5 at the Colour and Form Society Juried Show




Eileen Millen took the top Sculpture Prize at the Colour and Form Annual 57th Annual Juried Show taking place at the Etobicoke Civic Centre at Burnhamthorpe and Highway 427. Her excellent soapstone head called “Autumn” garnered a lot of interest.

Michael Young from Stone Sculptors' Studio 5 with “Green Talk”, Irene Sirko with “Ice Cream Cone” and Diane Leslie with “Repose” were all accepted into the show. Both Irene and Diane created their pieces in Studio 5.

The Exhibition is on until January 8th 2010.

Marg Peter shows at Barber Gallery, Carnegie Gallery, and the Hamilton Art Gallery



Marg won first prize in the Guelph Creative Arts Assoc. juried show at the Barber Gallery in Guelph. Show ends Oct. 28th.

She also has a show of small etchings and a few monotypes on the theme "In the Garden" to be hung for the month of Nov. at the Carnegie Gallery in Dundas.



Marg's painting "Hot Night In the City" has been accepted into the Society of Canadian Artists show to be held at the Hamilton Art Gallery, Nov.14th-Jan.24th.

Mill artists win awards at the John Sommer Juried Show

Carol-Ann Michaelson recently won the Sculpture Award at the John Sommer Juried Show at the Halton Hills Cultural Centre for this submission.


The Ceramics Award was given to Zsuzsa Monostory for a piece similar to the one pictured.

Carmen Hickson is part of the "New Hybrids" art show



In a time when technological innovation races against the shrinking of the globe, artists seek refuge in an ever-growing palette of media. The New Hybrids is an exhibition searching for new and creative ways of combining media to give voice to a rapidly changing world.

Carmen Hickson's three dimensional found object sculpture titled "Captive" has been selected for a new show at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga opening in May. The show is called "The New Hybrids" and showcases works using at least two different mediums. In this case illustration, sculpture, and verse.

This must see show will be featured in the Living Art Centre's on-site gallery from May 2nd to May 24th, 2009. Opening reception will be held on May 7th, from 7 to 9 pm.

Zsuzsa Monostory wins big at the Beaux-arts Juried Show


This Raku fired ceramic piece titled "Generations" was one of two accepted submissions by Zsuzsa Monostory to the Brampton Beaux-arts Juried Art Show. Zsuzsa was awarded the Heritage Award and a cash prize for this piece depicting the evolution of mankind on earth.

Eileen Millen in two new shows

Williams Mill sculptor Eileen Millen has had two pieces accepted into the 2nd Annual Juried Show of Beaux-Arts Brampton. Shown are Emergence IV and Emergence III (side and front views). The show runs from April 7 to May 2, 2009.



Eileen also had her piece Autumn selected for the Art Gallery of Peel's 36th Annual Juried Show which runs from April 8 to May 17, 2009.
