The selected art work of Williams Mill mixed media artist Candace Slack (Williams Mill Studio in the Yellow Mill) is featured in "Feminine Edge", an upcoming art exhibition at the lovely Bartlett Gallery in the Alton Mill. March 9th to April 3rd .
Meet Candace at the Opening Reception March 12, 1 - 4 p.m.
The artwork of artists Annette Kraft van Ermel and Bev DeJong is also featured. Bev DeJong was one of the first artists to have a studio at the Williams Mill. You may also remember her as one of the artist founders, along with Williams Mill artist Jo Walterson, of the Forge studios in Terra Cotta. She now works out of her Terra Cotta home studio. She is fondly respected by many in the artist community.
I know you will enjoy this show by these talented artists and they look forward to meeting you at the opening.

One week left for The Eyeful Salon Show
This is your last chance to view the Eyeful Salon show featured in the gallery right now. Several works have found new homes and a new show (Party of Three) will be up on the walls as of the 8th of September.
Party of Three will feature the works of Susan Wakefield, Bev De Jong, and Carmen Hickson. Please join them at their opening reception Friday the 17th, of September from 7-9 pm.
Studio news:
Christine Montague is now settled into her studio upstairs in the stone building. Her work looks fantastic on those large walls.
Sandra Krosse, Naomi Assenheim, and Christine Ford of the stone building have been working hard and have several new items showcased in their studios.
Several artists have been away at shows, workshops, and events all summer. Now is the time to come and see what they were working on and be the first to own a new piece from your favorite artist.

Second Saturday this weekend August 14, 210
A trip to the Williams Mill will definitely be in order this weekend if you are thinking of adding to your art collection. Several more artists will be participating in this "Second Saturday Event". Investing in an original work of art is an experience you can be proud of. The artists of the Williams Mill are creating special works just for the Second Saturday Event and you can be sure that even the artists will be looking in on their neighbors to see what unique piece will be available that day.
Second Saturday is meant to promote the purchasing of original art and we hope to do that by offering one special piece at a very reasonable price. Most original works can run into the hundreds or thousands of dollars but one Saturday each month is now your opportunity to acquire art for much, much less.
Studios open at 12 so don't be late or someone might beat to you that perfect piece.

Second Saturdays in more studios in August
July's Second Saturday event was once a again held in the lower studios of Carmen Hickson and Christine Montague. Carmen offered a figurative piece in browns and gold foil while Christine's special work featured a young boy frolicking on the beach (the oil paint was still wet, that's how new the work was).
Next month expect to see more studios participating in Second Saturdays including Marg Peter, Joe Walterson, Mike Young, and Christine Ford.
Make a note to come out to the Mill to see what treasures you can find.
